Default ***Tips 'n' Tricks on Adding Images***

Before you even TRY to post a picture on HDF (see image below):

1. go to your User CP (upper left side of page on blue toolbar) and click on it.

2. Scroll down to "Edit Options" click on it.

3. Now scroll all the way down to the bottom and

4. change from "Basic Editor" to "Enhanced".

5. Confirm settings by clicking "Save Changes" .

If you have not done this then HDF will not allow you to post pictures. (Terry1955; "Administrator & Troll Slayer", 02-20-2010)

Here's how to add images into a post:

I use a free account at photobucket.com to copy/paste pics into a post.

You have to upload your pictures from your computer to your photobucket account first, using the 800 X 600 re-sizing option in photobucket.

You will "bloat" the thread if you use larger image sizes!

Here's a tutorial on how to upload & re-size images using Photobucket.

Click "link options" of your PhotoBucket Album to set the link options you want to use as shown below and click "save":

When you want to add a picture in a post, first click the "insert link icon" --> <-- on top of the "Reply to Thread" box.

A message comes up and you have to allow the pop-up.

Now go to your album at photobucket, put your mouse on the pic you want to insert: a little properties screen pops up now.

Click on the lower "img code box" and copy (right mouse click) this img code (see below).

Now go back to your post at HDF.com and put your cursor in the text where you want to insert the image.

Now click the "insert link icon" , paste the img code into the box and click OK (see below)

Preview your post and check if the picture is not to large.

Here's how to add an images to your Avatar:

Before you start select an image you want to use and be sure it's size

does not exceed 150 by 150 pixels or 1,91 MB (whichever is smaller).

I use MS Paint to check these numbers and to re-size the image of needed.

Click "User CP" and "Edit Avatar" (see image below):

Click "Use Custom Avatar" checkbox, click "Browse" to find the image

on your computer, select the image and click "Open" (see image below):

Now click "Save Changes" and check the result in your User CP (see image below):

Default How to upload images from your computer....

First of all be sure to perform the steps below; If you have not done this then HDF will not allow you to post pictures:

1. go to your User CP (upper left side of page on blue toolbar) and left click it.

2. Scroll down to "Edit Options" and left click it.

3. Now scroll all the way down to the bottom to find the "Miscellaneous Options/Message Editor Interface" and

4. change the options box to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing".

5. Confirm settings by clicking "Save Changes" at the bottom of this page (see image below).

When you want to upload an image from your computer or digital card, you will have to use the "Manage Attachments" options button.

This button is located right under the screen where you type your text when posting a message.

Left click this button, choose a file from your computer and double left click it, left click the "upload" button and close the upload screen.

Now left click the "Preview Post" button to check the image and you'll find the image thumbnail attached to your post.
