CT on Rushmore Model - Seating Problem
As the first person to attempt to mount a CT on a 2016 Rushmore model, I bought a Goodyear Assurance tire 175/60R16.
Pulled the OEM tire off, which had 11K miles on it and put the CT on. Now I'm having trouble getting it to seat.
I've filled it up to the 40PSI max that the warning says for seating and deflated it several times but one side just won't pop out to the edge of the rim. I've applied tire mounting lubricant to the edge of the tire as well as in the rim. I've tried to use a cinch strap to tighten the tire on the rim but the ratchet part causes the tire to buckle in toward the wheel so the tire bead is grossly distorted. I have a heater system blowing hot air on it to maybe soften up the rubber a bit so it will stretch a little better.
Any ideas how to conquer this?

that is a sound that is both satisfying and a little scary at the same time, at least I know that I jump every time.
What I did on mine was to take some emory cloth and smooth out the beads as best as I could. Don't know if that helped or not, but it did seat with no issues.

60-70 psi no big deal but 90 is pushing it.
Emory cloth is not a issue on the bead surface of a rim I have change thousands of Harley tires and the older ones are caked with old rubber and we need to clean all the off so the new tire will bead and seal so we use a nylon disc in a die grinder and polish the beads up never a problem doing it that way in 15 years so I don't see emory cloth doing any damage either
