What front tire to use

2010 limited ultra so I have a 17 in rim. I get about 20 thousand out of an American elite but the last 5 thousand it should be changed because of cupping. I do mostly riding with a trailer so the bike does mostly highway miles. Would a rear tire put on the front get a cheaper wear per mile. I have Hancock 426 on the rear and that im not very happy with but will wear it out. The bike gets 25 thousand a year

I only ran double dark on the old bike for the last 10,000 miles I had it so I can't say how long the tire would have lasted. i can say I think the bike handled better and most certainly stopped quicker.
I plan to go DD on this bike as soon as I wear out the OEM front tire....

I am Still waiting for someone to post what size car tire they are running on the front. Without going with a wide tire front end setup and other changes there are none that will fit the front.

Double dark side is running a rear MC tire on the front mounted backwards
