Default When did split occur?

I am very curious as to when the tire industry made the split from tire profile for car and profile for motorcycle. Did this specialty profile happen before WWI? The twenties? Thirties? Is it a recent development? I have never read in my books as to when the tires branched off.

If I have a "you're a dumbass" coming to me, then don't hold back.
I have a suspicion that there never was a convergence of tire profile of the car and the motorcycle. But I do not know this. The profile of the early automobiles was pretty much smooth and round. And the bicycle and motorcycle tire profiles were pretty much smooth and round.
