The Dark Side For those members running "Car Tires" on their scoots. This is for their discussion only and not a place for "non dark siders" to mouth off about their negative opinions of this idea!

Default First Darkside thread

I just wanted to be the first to post in this section. Now I am famous for something.
Im looking forward to reading about peoples experience with the darkside. Have entertained it in the past, and I havnt ruled out the idea.

I'll be interested to see how this doesn't become a discussion of the pros and cons of the idea.

My friend just went to the dark side on his v-star. I'm anxiously awaiting his reviews.

So, I guess now I'm the first one to reply to a thread in this section? Woot!

There is a strict rule here similar to the Firearms section where the naysayers must keep their opinions to themselves or in the other sections.

This is designed for those of us running CT and desire discussion or those who want to learn more about running CT.

I'm very excited. Thanks Terry for building the section for us.

By radiused corners do you mean rounded edges?

They're several on the market, Dunlop, Bridgestone, and Handkook, just to name a few. Here are pics of a Bridgestone Turanza that I had on my bike(20,000 miles) and just replaced last weekend with a Handkook Ventus. A side by side view uf the BS and the HK. The BS was a 195-60-16 and the HK is a 205-55-16. Not much room, but it fits and doesn't rub. Forgot to mentoin, I ran 28 to 30 lbs in the BS and 32 in the HK. Just FYI

One thing to note is that we do not fill up to maximum pressure so there is some flex therefore alot of the tread stays in contact with the road.

Good point, from before 7" on the road, now with new tire, 8" on the road.

Looks like all of your wear is in the center. What pressure were you at?
