Rode up to Palm Beach International Raceway today. Terrific temps but WOW was it windy on the way north. Southbound was much better. Still, great day for a ride indeed.
Right at 2:30 I was exiting the turnpike S to 595 W ..... Lauren you know those crazy high curvy ramps...on those high ramps I was literally being blown from one side of the lane to the other - in 35 years of riding I don't recall that ever happening to me, it was also very scary!!
Finally, cooler weather. Gonna be a nice cool weekend. Woke up to 40 this morning with a high of upper 60's...woohoo
So, how many miles did you get in today??? I left the house this am at 7am at 46* and rode to work. Guessing it will be in this temp range when I'm in Yellowstone next Sept and thought I'd see what I was in for. Need to put the chin curtain back in the Shoei......
The weather was perfect today. I spent the day installing my heated grips and then went for a 135 mile ride with the temps ranging from 55 - 65. The heated grips worked out nicely. On my last trip cross county, it got a bit chilly in Glacier, Yellowstone, Rocky Mountains and Utah even in July. They will come in handy the day or two of winter here in FL and while I am touring the country on my trips. :-)
And the install is no joke...
On another note, I installed my new V&H Twin Slash Monster pipes last week and my Custom Dynamic Fillerz lights. My V&H FuelPak3 tuner came in yesterday and I installed that last night along with the K&N filter that I replaced the OEM one with. So I'm looking forward to doing a few more rides to get everything all tuned in perfectly.
Here are a few pics from today's heated grip install. We had to take the entire boom audio system out in order to get the wire run internally through the bars and access it through the hole between the triple tree. I never would have imagine having to take all that off just to install the heated grips.

I know it's a little late now but the entire batwing fairing will roll forward and allow access to the bars and wiring. This only work on 2014+ model batwings.
Cover the front fender.
Remove the road lights.
Remove the outer fairing.
Remove the fairing cap.
Remove the four bolts behind where the road lights came off.
Have something to support the fairing and lift and roll.
I found this out when I swapped the bars out and ran all the wire internally.
