Default Chesters HD sold

It's all happening in S Fl, not sure when they take over but the new owners are not motorcycle people, they own the Fountainblue Hotel and other businesses.

This might not be a bad thing. Maybe the new owners are not motorcycle people, but I'll bet the are business people. That being the case they will do what the need to do to ensure that their investment is a success. They have other income streams to be able to finance the money for improvements on Chester's.

The days of the small shop are gone. It is far too costly with insurance, overhead, payroll, inventory, and regulations for the average Joe to open a new Harley dealership let alone buy out an existing franchise.

Often times change is the illusion of progress.

Wow. This is the 1st I heard of it.

1st 45th St., Harley Davidson and now Chester's.

I understand things at 45th St. are going along very well. Maybe it is to early to really know. There may be an expansion of 45th St. in the direction of the strip club to the east where all of that vacant land is.

They buy them because they are profitable. Not because they love motorcycles, or the people that ride them. They like the money. Harleys pretty much sell themselves, in spite of the sales folks.
Service dept make money for them too. The dealers charge $95-$115 per hour, and pay they techs, $12-15 per hr, at least in Sw Fl.

Just like car dealers aren't necessarily car enthusiasts.
People buy a business because its all about the money.
