How early did you fella's get to Immokalee? A buddy of mine and I rode through there around 10:30 or so. We stopped at the casino for just a few minutes, then took off south through Ave Maria. Since I'm new here, we didn't really know where to ride. It was just me on my FXSTC, and my buddy on his Suzuki SV-650. We had a great ride, and I am WAY TOO sunburned. Didn't realize that we were going to be gone for 3 hours, had only planned on 1 since my buddy "had to be back" in an hour, I didn't bother putting on sunscreen. Oh well, I've learned my lesson now!! LOL I think we only put on about 100-130 miles total today. I wish we could've met up in Immokalee today. I don't know what Rib City is, never heard of it, but still would've liked to met up with some of you!
I arrived in Immokalee a few minutes before 11. Rib City did not open until 11:30. Had a great lunch! Good to see my riding buddies after the week I have had. Don't be shy about bringing metrics along. We have a mix of all kinds of bikes. Sport bikes, Metrics, Even a passout man on a Can-Am Spyder rides with us. We are passed all that bike ridiculing crap. We all know in our own minds what the best bike is. The best bike is the one that you ride. If not, it is time to get another one.
Jim and Jerry,
I did end up riding to Clewiston to Jason's. When I got home he had left a message.
I agree about the whole bike crap!! Like I've said before, this is my first Harley. My first was a honda shadow 750 A.C.E., then went from that to a 2004 Yamaha Venture (LOVED that bike), but got rid of it since we moved down here to Florida. After living here for a month, decided I couldn't stand not having a bike. So my wife said that if I was going to look at bikes again, SHE wanted me to get a Harley. And the rest is history. We are on a tight budget, so I had to go with something older that I could afford and went with a 96 Softail custom. I like it a lot, it's just not my big, comfy tourer. When she gets out of school, I'm going to get a bike geared more for touring. Anyway, I ramble too much. I'm glad y'all had a safe ride today.
I was at a conference in Tampa yesterday morning and got a message from JD that he had gone out to meet ya'll.. When I talked to him I asked "Did you go to the store again and get lost?"
I think this is getting to be a habit.. At least it keeps him out of trouble when I'm busy...
