Launch time: 2313 GMT (7:13 p.m. EDT)
Launch site: LC-39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida
STS-127 will be the 29th U.S. mission to the International Space Station. The flight will deliver the external experiment platform for the Japanese science laboratory facilities. Delayed from May 15 to give launch slot to STS-125. Scrubbed June 13 and June 17 due to leaks in gaseous hydrogen venting system. Scrubbed to check for problems from lightning strikes. The official tally on the lightning strikes from last night is 11 hits within 0.3 miles of the pad. The pad's water tank was hit and the lightning mast was struck a couple of times.

You could hear it a bit but not loud or earth shaking. I don't know if being up on a bridge played a factor. In Daytona so a bit more south is not a big deal for the next one. America rules the universe kind of feeling! Made for a nice afternoon ride, went to Breakers on Flagler ave at the beach after. This time of year you have to dodge the storms and it was dumping back home.
