Exclamation Thread Bumps

Gang, I bumped up about 15 threads this morning in order to move down the multiple SPAM threads from "HD Fort Myers". Sorry for any inconvenience.

As others of you commented in those threads, had it been 1 thread listing all the events, that would have been OK, but done this way is really spam cluttering up our Crew section. "HD Fort Myers" also just joined the forum and his only posts are these SPAM advertisements.

Please refrain from commenting in these spam threads as it only brings them back to the top again.

Edit: I sent the following message to HD Ft Myers
"The HDForums.com FL Crew has no interest in your multiple SPAM messages posted in our forum section. Please stop this practice.
If you want to advertise on the forum, become a paid sponsor like everyone else.
Pissing off your customers isn't a real smart business decision.
"

I thought I would post the response I got from HD Ft Myers regarding our objection to their spamming our forum section. It is followed by my second response to them.

Hi C Harley,
I received the below email stating we were or are spaming the HD Forum website. I can assure you we are not spamming the website/forum. We are merely posting our upcoming Events/Rides. I thought that is what these forums were created for, to get the word out to fellow motorcycle enthusiats and let them know what you are doing, what is happening in case they are around and want to join. I see there are many other posts that are just the same as our posts.

Please let me know if there is any issues.

Thank you,

HD Fort Myers
My Response:

Sorry, but you are mistaken. You will not find (non sponsor) businesses spamming the forum. The only “upcoming events” or other forms of announcements permitted here is what is posted by our private, contributing (non-commercial) members or paid sponsors. A private participating member is free to post up an announcement for an upcoming event for other members benefit, but we are not interested in receiving SPAM from commercial enterprises.

We DO NOT need and are not interested in winding up having every HD dealer in FL, flood our private group discussion section with announcements or advertising.

Kindly take it elsewhere.

cHarley

Hurrah shouted the crowd!!! If I wanted to know about HD Ft Myers events I would subscribe to their mass E-mail server. This type of posting could get out of hand in just a matter of hours and then it would be to much trouble searching through the muck to get to my beloved Fla Crew postings that I actually care about. I hope this is the end of this. Thanks cHarley for your prompt attention.
