while you are quitting (don't TRY to quit.....QUIT!)....add up the cost per month
of smoking. Visualize what you could buy for the price of all that burnt tobacco.
Stage two? Three? Hell! YOu could add that extra bathroom she's been thinking about!!!!
Quitting smoking helps you.....and adds to you income.
I have known several people that 'just quit'. I would have married this girl, years ago....but I asked her to quit smoking first. She wouldn't, so WE didn't.
I heard from her last year......she quit smoking and is doing fine.
You know it's the right thing to do. Do it....and you have the bragging rights!!!
Think of all that $$$ you can save for chrome!!! Improving your health and enjoying life more is just an extra. We want you to be around for the 25th Annual Ocala Rally!! Just do it, Paul. You know you can.
I quit 4 years ago, last April. I did it while deployed and with a team who still smoked. I used the patch (and cheated with some gum). The first week was the hardest, but it got easier as time went.
My trick was to start a clock (on MS Excel) that literally counted the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years. I kept telling myself that I'd have to restart my clock if I took even one puff...that was 40026 hours (1668 days, 238.3 weeks) ago...and I haven't pick one up again. If I ever have the craving (and I do from time to time), I tell myself that I'd be throwing all that time away.
That said, PM me and I'll be your quit budy...you quit and I'll stay quit.

I started taking Chantix this past Sunday, still building up to full dose. I haven't picked a specific "quit date" yet, but already have patches & gum standing by.
My 40 year habit has got to stop. But I hate quitters. LOL I want to lose weight and my new doc says that my blood sugar is too high and that I may be either a type II diabetic already, or I am right on the edge of becoming one. More tests and monitoring on the way. I hate doctors.
Anyway, if there are any recent "quitters" out there, or someone who was waiting for that perfect opportunity to quit. Join me now.
Working for a health-services place makes me feel weird to be a smoker. They have an awful, way out of the way place where the few who do smoke at work must go to have one. There are almost 4,000 employees where I'm at, and probably only 40 or so who smoke during work hours. I HATE being part of that group.
The worst part of smoking is the smell you have on you around people that dont smoke. Nearly makes em gag, I know cuz I hate it myself. I'm pretty lucky in the sense never had an addictive personality, so I can quit at the drop of a hat. I still smoke socially and while drinking or in the evenings now. I quit for a week just to see if I can keep a hold on it. Cold turkey is the only way I've done it.
You can do it paul, it's all in your head. Keep yourslef busy with other things to get you past your few minutes of craviongs and time will pass, then days, weeks tec.
Try toothpicks, something to keep your fingers and mouth busy.

Well, I wouldn't say that. I quit for 13yrs once, and started again. Last quit was 01Jan2007. But, it's worth it to quit for many reasons. I still miss it, but ya gotta do it, and keep away from em.
