Yesterday when we made a stop on our ride (Hooters) my wfie and I were talking about the Arizona trip. I mentioned that they two of us planned on flying out and renting a bike. We then planned on riding with the crew for a few days, and then breaking off by ourselves and heading to Sedona for a few more days. Are any of the trips the crew planing on doign heading towards Sedona by any chance?
Sedona is only a couple of hours from Phoenix/Mesa by the fastest route (I-17), but is a great backroad route through Wickenburg, Prescott, Jerome, Sedona and/or Oak Creek Canyon (89A) - but is an all day ride round trip.
Dean and I were discussing this Saturday. We will both be off work for the time you guys are here, and would prefer to ride together, but can split up for a day or two if anyone really wants to see someplace that most of the others don't.
Places like the Grand Canyon and Tombstone are best done as an overnight ride to allow time for checking the places out.

There is a good chance we will be heading to Sedona sometime during the week. it is VERY nice up there.

It is beuatiful.... here is a picture of the resort we stayed up. This was from when we hike up a mountain nearby.
We had flown into Vegas, spent 3 nights. We then rented a car and drove across the desert to Sedoan where we spent 4 nights. We then flew home from Pheonix.
Sedona is on the list, weather permitting. That whole ride that Joe described is a must do if it is not snowy up there. It is an all day ride but well worth it. If weather permits we are planning on a trip up the Coronado Trail also.
Dam, now my wife wants to go. I might have to ship bike out and ride back. Told her she will be camping with me sleeping right next to bike and taking bath in cold mountain streams, she didnt bat an aya and said lets go. I still have to firm work schedule as I have Hoka Hey race right after this in June.

Watch out... she may end up wanting to ride with you during the Hoka Hey .
