But if a bigbox store gives me the wrong item (in my favor), I will indeed keep it. They have given me inferior products in the past and THEY felt no remorse about refusing to make it right. They can afford it just fine.
Now go ahead, turn this around to accuse me of saying that I am a devious crook. Go ahead. I don't care what you think. What counts to me is what I think.
I think you guys that are advising him to return his TV, very likely would not do that if it were YOU in his shoes.
These boards are plumb FULL of HYPOCRITES!
.
I agree with those who have suggested he give the seller the option of how they want to play it. I would apply this same principle if I were the one with the "wrong" tv sitting in my living room. If this were my money on the line, I would act the same as the advice given (even though in the past I have done otherwise). As others have said as I get older, a clear conscience at the end of the day is of more value to me than a few bucks in my pocket or something I look at often reminding me of how I obtained it.
Having been a HYPOCRITE in the past and KNOWING HOW IT MADE ME FEEL, I chose several years ago to live my life differently. As a dad I teach my kids by example to be good citizens.
If you prefer to live life by the rule of take what you can when you can good luck to you. Me I wonder how the manager at BB feels at inventory time when he has to explain where the high dollar tv went when the sales inventory sheet says it should be in the warehouse...

They always have a mile long list of stuff that doesn't match.
They do a second count, then narrow that count with a third count,.... then adjust the computers to match the third count. Then,.... life goes on. It's only numbers on a sheet of paper. No emotions involved. Huge store, huge inventory, hundreds of humans involved,....... normal stuff. They will never notice the difference when he brings that TV back. Drop in the bucket to them.
Let's see I think the majority of the people that are telling him to return it are people that I know, and trust, would ride to hell and back with...Faast Ed...I'm no hyprocrite...but I wouldn't ride with you or trust you on a bet...that's my opinion ...deal with it...flame me all you want..I'm immune to BS ...
I had something like this happen to me with a camera went to return it for what I was supposed to get and they told me because it was theyre mistake to keep the upgraded camera.
I would definitly call them and let them decide if it is worth it to them to come and exchange it at there expense.

I wasn't looking to ride with you, nor hold your wallet either. LOL
What is it with people who lash out at those with differing opinions?
one lesson ive learned if you get the wrong change back or get something you didnt pay for,if i didnt do the right thing it cost me ten times more down the road.just my thought.
