If you want to buy a video camera and use it to tape some bike rides, do NOT get a camera that uses a hard drive.
Apparently the vibration will keep it from recording.
I bought a JVC Evirio HD camera and found out the hard way it won't do it. It does have a slot for a microSDHC for up to 8 gigs.
I emailed JVC about my issue, and they said to use the msd card. Yeah, now I gotta go buy one of those.
If I knew then, what I know now....
I use my lil old cheapy Kodak digital cam in video mode...mount it on handlebars, works good enuff fer me...you can get a butt load of video on a 1 gb SD card

Another point is the ipod's with hard drives are a no-no. Mine went bad and when asked apple, they said the vibrations screws it up. Not too many ipods have HD anymore but just sayin. Now they have the memory, kinda like what SP uses in his camera, the lil tiny cards that are removeable.
Thundermug, in response to your 2nd sig line. You need to attend more functions to see what REALLY happens! Don't believe the i-net! especially when its from the crew, furthermore when the crew speaks of me! Lol it's bound to b something bad! hehehe
