SloFla, Anniversary Roast
Last year he started out in the crew with 400 miles on his king, yes he scared the $hit out of me that first ride up 27, had to look in the mirrors more than forward on the way up to Hooterville.
I had to look back so much because I kept thinking he was breaking down. But no, he was driving Miss Daisy, nothing wrong just scared as hell to go over 45 MPH.
The loving banter between him Philip, SP, and TJD, ya have to laugh.
I will say this, he has like 25 k miles on that bike, granted he didnt change the oil until 20k miles, didnt have to drain the crankcase as there was no oil in there.just add oil and change filter.
Half the 25 k miles were at 45 MPH or below. But he rides his *** off and he is approaching 80 mph now.
He has defied the grim reaper almost on a daily basis, makes ya wonder, most riders run into other things, he is getting run down by the real Miss Daisy from behind.
Th love and affection he shows toward his King is only rivaled by his love and affection he shows his Schwinn and leotard bicycle outfit.
Steve, been a good year bud, enjoyed riding with ya, congrats for surviving and racking up the miles you have.

I do have to thank the seasoned Crew members, and especially you for taking me under your wings (and no, I do not mean Goldwing). Ya'll have made me a better rider, and you have given me loads of advice, and taught me a lot about maintenance. Riding a motorcycle at all is something I never thought that I would do. I was too scared to even think of riding.
I may still take a lot of ribbing about riding slow because of those "early days". But due to you guys, I have become somewhat of a speed demon. I love riding at 85 - 90 (even on 84). Now a days, instead of trying to get the courage to speed up a little, I am telling myself I need to slow down before I get freaking ticket. But I have noticed LEO gives Harley riders a bit of leeway when it comes to posted speed. That said, don't think I'll follow you at 90 down the turnpike weaving around cars. At least not yet.

I'm very happy that I hooked up with the Crew, I have made lots of great friends.
Well, ****... you guys all told me that you just liked to ride fast. But actually, you were just trying to get away !
On Monday the 31st when we are in St. Augustine that will be the one year anniversary that I passed my Rider Test. 30 minutes later I was at Harley Davidson and bought my Road King Classic. 3 days after that I picked it up (at the dealer) after getting my endorsement. And 3 days after THAT is when I fractured my back picking it up from the street.
