My name is Dennis and I am a chaps wearer. There is a lot of people on this board (in the general section not the Fl crew) that poke fun at a$$less chaps ( first, if they covered your a$$ they would be pants) but when they temp is below 40 degrees and you ride 26 miles on I95 to get to work they help keep you warm.

Bill, if you want heated grips, BUY THEM!!! If you don't like cold hands, then do whatever you want. Don't let anyone make the decision for you. Also, even in FLORIDA, chaps come in handy.

Generally they are not needed but I have seen a few days down here when I wished that I had them. Not enough to fool with getting them though.

+1 I would rather ride in 95 degrees than in 55 degrees. 75mph in 55 degrees is cold wind chill. Hell, any temps below 70 is cold to me. I prefer putting $$ into my comfort rather than into bike bling. And I also agree with a previous post.....chaps with an azz in them are known as pants.

IMO, heated grips are fine when the backside of your hands and fingers are protected from the wind by a faring. But, without the protection of a faring in anything below 50*, nothing beats heated gloves.

Bill, if you're looking for cold weather non-heated gloves, I would look for a Thinsulate lined glove. I didn't see anything about these being lined.

No, no heated grips needed here, just a decent pair of glove3s (a lot cheaper too).

Yep, get a good pair of gloves that have thinsulate in them. Got a pair last year for the ride to Bike Week in March, Temps at the house was upper 30's low 40's when I headed out. Hands stayed warm all day, no problems.
