Ok took me a minute to find it. Ape's are ok as long as your hands are not higher than your shoulders. http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/...0316.2095.html
Florida is real laid back towards bikes in general though as long as you ain't acting a fool. You see folks with no signals and apes all the time. Will they let you on the base with no Turn Signals?
I won't have to pass through a gate to get to my work. My compound will be separate from main post. I want them on there anyway. I want a mirror/turn combo for the front and stop/turn/tail for the back

Not that tall at all, at most it would be 2 inches above shoulders
Panhandle....Crestview and Eglin AFB area. Can't wait to get there. It's wierd that the AMA website say they are required. I'm thinking of putting the mirror/turnsignal combo on anyway. Also, how uptight are they on the handlebar height above the riders shoulder
Thanks
Turn signals are required, hands can only go as high as your shoulders; sporadic enforcement but it only takes one cop who need to write some tickets to get his supervisor off his azz to make it an expensive day for you.
I know photographs can be deceiving but it would seem you would have to be very short for those bars to be too high.
NY state law is, depends on the year of the bike. If your bike was sold from factory without them ( I think that is 1969 & earlier) they are not required. Weird to think, a state that does not require helmets would require turn signals.
