Florida does not require Liability Ins. on a bike? If you have any kind of assets whatsoever I would carry Liability at the very least. If you can write a check tomarrow to buy a new bike if you wrecked yours and not bat an eye then I can understand waving the Collision/Comp.......
I might be reading you wrong though, I thought every state in the Union required Liability Ins.......
Cost of annual insurance $450 per year (assuming it is an annual premium).
It would take you 44 years @ $450 per year before you spent the price of a new bike in insurance costs. Even if the premium was $900 per year, you're still looking at 22 years before you shelled out the equivalent price of a new bike in insurance costs.
Unless you have minimum $20k laying around to buy a new bike if anything happened keep the insurance.
Definitely shop around, however. Insurance prices are set based not only on your driving record, but also longevity with an insurance company, any other policies you have with said company (car, home, etc) and, believe it or not, credit rating
Mine renews next week just shopped a couple still best value with State Farm for me 523.00 a year
Thats about what I pay for both of mine with Allstate but we have our other vehicles insured through them as well .. Uninsured motorist is thrown in because have the other policies ..
