I posted this before . go to the dealer tell them you do not care how much do you going to give you for your bike , and you do not care how much they charging you for the new bike . all you care about is the in between cost what you have to pay out of pocket to leave with the new bike . don't tell them you want to do the same thing at least 3 other dealers . no dealer is going to know the other dealers offer to you . that way they won't be each other I just a couple of 100 dollars .
I did this and saved exactly 3000 dollars 1 dealer over the other.
my brother took my advice in massachusetts and did the exact same thing last week . he saved 2850 do over 1 dealer. he gets his new 2012 street glide next thursday

Sorry to hear that the deal didn't work for you. The right bike is out there! I agree with others, get your bike on Craig's List, or even Cycle Trader and get it sold away from dealer. No dealer is going to give you a decent trade-in value.
Long story short it didn't happen I think my 06 fatboy was worth more than 5500
You're right it's worth more....I took my 05 Heritage to my local stealer, he offered 8500 and the RG Ultra was priced high. I when to Treasure Coast on a Sunday afternoon.... he gave me $11.000 for the Heritage and undercut my local by $3000....."He made me an offer I couldn't refuse"
