Well the whole metric bike thing didn't work out. Went and road a suzuki c50t and it was a little under powered and didn't feel quite right to me. We were getting ready to leave and saw this sitting in back by the service dept. like a red headed step child. I liked it but more importantly camel kisser liked it and worked the sales man over and got the price down almost 2k from what they were asking so we couldn't pass it up. Wasn't exactly cheap like we were shooting for but still a damn good deal.
2006 Road King Custom 17,500 miles. Vance and Hines 2 into 1 pipe, screamin eagle air cleaner and factory stage 1 map.
My buddy Mark sold his Road King this year and bought a Beeeemer. We took a little trip this summer and boy howdy, did he miss his RK. Looks like a great bike and just broke in. I'm sure you'll love it. Mrs Fish told me when I got home after my trip that I needed to buy and Ultra Classic. Love that gal of mine
Thanks everyone! Can't wait for the weather to break so I can get it out and shake it down a little! So much different from my last one, a little short on the creature comforts but lots more power and less weight!
If you really put down miles you can't beat the Ultras, and the new ones look to have everything we have been asking for! ABS, bluetooth connectivity, more passenger comforts! But way out of my range right now....someday. But I think this is the one I will never get rid of. Great for around town and still long trip capable.
Thanks Dave! Just got back from a short little ride between rains. Something rattling in the front end, sounds like sheet metal, I will find it tomorrow if I don't get called in. Boy what a difference in power! Not that I am a fast rider but lots more power in passing cruises great in 3rd.
