I have done extensive research on the internet regarding waving. I listed the 743 reasons to wave that riders had posted and the 501 reasons not to wave that other riders had posted. Then I broke them down into wave and not wave categories. Thru scientific analysis and by comparing the motivations of all riders, be they Honda or Harley, I found I could safely reduce all of them into two categories. The final result of 1200 hours of research was this.
You want to wave - wave.
You don't want to wave - don't wave
I did find one item that seem to bring out the ire in everyone. That was posting a wave thread. It seems people care more about an internet wave post than whether they wave or not on the road.
Sincemy tongue is firmly in my cheek, I expect this thread and this topic to go on, and on, and on, and .......................... It is sort of the reason we have Republicans and Democrats, some of us just don't want to be in the same political party that you are in.
"I had to lay er down" Translated "I panicked, stomped the rear brake and lowsided"
*Piggyback Thread*
"There are times when laying a bike down (intentionally crashing to avoid a crash) is a good idea". Translated, "I can't ride worth a f*ck either; so you're good Bro".
"I'm sick of waving; what's with all the waving??"
"I've been asked to join an MC; what should I do?"
"My ape hangers won't stop rotating in the handlebar clamps" Translated "I've never used a long cheater bar and don't understand the longer lever principle".
And so on.............
Live it up boys; we're only 8 months or so from the "Which Oil?" threads. I gotta go ride and wave at fellow riders

I concur. I enjoyed waving my first few rides, when it was 45°. You might wave every half hour. Over 70 it's every 2 minutes, and people on the other side of the interstate median are waving to me.
So now I wave when I want, if it's hurts other people's feelings, I don't care. First World Problem.
