Been there done that and some days are worse than others. I've been on the road and suddenly just got so sleepy I could hardly hold my eyes open. Those can be dangerous times if you try to push it. Usually a little rest and walking around a bit helps a lot.
Lonesome Dove is arguably the best TV series ever done and the book even better. I've read several of Larry McMurtry's books and really like his writing style although some were better than others.

While Muzzleloader hunting I was sitting on a log eating lunch. I felt a "presence" and slowly turned around. There was a small buck right behind me. I mean if I had leaned back instead of turned around, I would've used it as a backrest.
