Does that suggest the crank in not true round passing through the bearing.......or that the crank has a slight "bend" to it?
Not sure how the bearing "floats" unless the bearing interface has extra tolerance built into it.

On transmissions we say no more then .002 run out on the mainshaft. Harley's spec used to be .003 for the crank. The dealer with the crank that was .014 out called Harley and they told him it was within spec. We are seeing them all over the board straight out of the factory.

Oh and I wouldn't call it "bent" it was made that way. If I understand the bearing change right , it used to be a press fit Timken bearing, now it's a Joe blows cycle supplies roller.
