I was at home sleeping cuz I was working nights. Glo called and woke me to tell me what happened.

Stan... I was home after knee surgery, watched it live on the only station carrying it and knew when it exploded that it was bad.... never forget it!

Another thought on the Challenger episode and something that hardly anyone knows. I have a friend who was working for NASA at that time. He told me that at least some of the crew was actually still alive after the explosion and before the remains of the cabin hit the water.


This based on some things that were done in the cabin that were procedures that were only utilized in the event of a imminent crash or other emergency.

For all the hard boozing I did as a road warrior, don't believe I ever had a Long Island Iced Tea........!
Instead I swilled Bacardi by the bucketful...... "Lotsa Ice Please - Make it a Short"
Prolly not a good idea to try them now :-)
