The process for Russ's Pop's Goulash and Neopolitan spaghetti sounds like how the Army would make bread pudding. I never did try it, though I was all but ordered to by a drill sergeant
A cook? Nah, I just happen to get assigned KP every single damn time it was our company's turn. I missed the pugil sticks/bayonet dummy training and Victory Tower rapelling because of KP.
We had female drills too. One day at dinner our female drill was getting fruit and one of the recruits had decided that would be a good time to tell his buddy "Man, I am hot as a mf'er" though he said the full word and leaned up against the cooler. She heard him and snapped.
Across the dining facility she called to his drill "Drill Sgt so-and-so! (i've since forgotten names) One of your privates says he is hot as a MF'er and now he's just a leaning on the cooler over here."
It got real quiet, real fast. It was funny, but no one dared laugh at that moment. I had some good times in the Army...and obviously memories that stick with me
