Mark, lesleys mom marinades steaks every time, and not bad, but not great. Lesley got her "cooking skills" from her mom. Last week she marinade the steaks in red wine. Interesting but entirely too sweet. Tonight I just used pepper and salt. So much better.
I agree lou, no red meat needs a liquid marinate. Especially steak. Simplicity is best.
Garlic salt and onion salt are my Go To seasonings for most meat. I'd pass up a bef steak for a pork steak any day and those salts are perfect on pork.
