Been planning a trip to Yosemite for about the past month or so.
Cousin is arriving on Thursday for an early Friday departure to get through LA ahead of morning traffic, and then it's up the coast to Monterey for lunch.
Then we'll head East to a little town called Coulterville where we have a reservation through Monday.
Chris (cousin) got a park pass for Saturday, but I was not successful. I did snag one for Sunday though, so we just extended our trip by a day.
The passes allow entry after 06:00 and are good for 3 days, so his will work on Sunday too.
If we hadn't gotten the passes, we would have had to be in the park before 06:00, which would have meant a really early departure from the hotel.
@07UltraGuy@Calif Fat Bob So how was that Yosemite trip? Back when I was stationed in Merced, wed ride almost every month or so up to Yosemite. Even rode once with snow 🥶 covering the side of the road - hey I was as young guy! Best part of that ride was Merced to Mariposa then up to Coulterville along highway 49. Man, Id love to hit that one again.
When the sign says 15 MPH, they arent joking. Worst part of that road was weekend traffic and campers. 🤬
@OkieBill the trip was EPIC. I’ve lived in the SF Bay Area my entire life and never been to Yosemite. Very few cars as they limit the numbers now.
The only bummer was Tioga Pass road work. The road was a dirt road and wet for 5 miles or so. Not Fat Bob friendly. Lol

What an incredibly beautiful part of this great country. Been really fortunate to have traveled quite a bit of the states and every section has such unique qualities. Glad that trip was memorable. You gotta try the highway 49 ride. Man oh man is it a blast.
