I doubt this bike actually happens. We will see if any here who put their $50 down are going to put their $2K down. I don’t think so….lot of talk but lets see there is anything to back it up.

It would have been nice if this new Buell company kept the design of the supercruiser closer to the original FXR, so accessories like seats and saddlebags could be used. The FXR chrome fender struts and FXR side covers would have been a nice touch as well.

For what they are asking (23-25K) it is a bargain. Even if they spec it "lower" than initially thought. Go bust out a calculator, sit next to your bike in the garage, and starting from the front tire ($150) start adding up everything. Even the small fasteners are 10 cents apiece at volume. The raw casting of a small engine side cover is $7 for example, and that does not include initial mold cost,($150,000) machining, and finishing.

It sounds expensive, and 25K is.................but they are not ripping you off, believe me.

Nonetheless, I'm glad the Super Cruiser is happening.

It's not only the 1175 HP, but tthat, coupled with the weight reduction, is going to be amazing. Back in the day, the EBR was pitted against a KTM Super Duke, which only slightly edged it out for Bike of the Year. OF course, that was 10 years ago. I don't lnow if the peak numbers are actually useable, though, so we'll have to wait and see.

The Dyno chart tells a story here.

All of that being said, we'll have to wait and see how much of that power is actually streetable. I'm sure it's a great bike, just not certain it's 26000 great of one. I still have a thing for that KTM though, although there'll probably never be one in my garage. My sportbike days are well behind me, and when I was on one, it wore a Bar and Shield. I'd like to see how it compares the the revolution MAX. IF Harley ever gets around to making a streetfighter with that particular engine, I might get interested again. After I've paid off the one I just bought, of course.
