New post count proposal - good, bad or just wrong...
I think the time has come to revise the “post” count on this great HD Forum. Congrats to Da Gumpmeister for reaching 4,000 posts, but we all know it was in part achieved by posting in the ‘Serial’ thread (to which I have added a few myself...). I must admit that I have also increased my post count by a few ‘pointless’ responses, but it is time to level the playing field.
I propose that the ‘post count’ is converted to a ‘point count’. I feel that not all posts are created equal, regardless of how the Supreme Court may rule. I have given it some though, although not much, and this is what I propose:
Start a new thread: 15 points
Start a new thread in the politics forum: -20 points
Start a new thread in the religious forum: your points await you in Heaven
Start a new thread regarding waving,
***-less chaps or fingerless gloves: -100 points
Responding to the above-mentioned thread: -15 points
Start a new thread regarding biker vs. poser: -200 points
Start a new thread in the games forum: 300 points (they help to keep us entertained while at work)
Responding to a "new member" post: 1 point
Responding to a politics forum post: -5 points
Any thoughts?
CAVEAT: This post is in the BS forum - before getting on your high horse, think first.

Reason: clarification
So the point of your pointed post is to point out that while it may be fun to increase your post count by posting comments on pointless posts, you're proposing a system which would award points based on the number of pointless posts you either start or comment on with an emphasis on posts which point out game post which would garner the creator more points?
Would I get extra points if my game posts used pointed pointers?
Hell, I don't care. LOL
