Da Gumpmeister is a derivative that came from SNL, just like "I'm Gumby, Dammit" Been Gumby since 1966. LONG story. Been riding (road riding) since 1966. My kids even call me Gumby AND it's on my credit cards and bank accts. There are ppl who have known me for over 20 yrs, and have posolutely, absotively no idea what my real name is.
And I spell that way, so the rest of the rednecks can follow along with THIS ONE. (Me
) 
Actually, all 4 of my grandparents came from Germany. And my Gramma, who learned English, but not real well, always spelled her words, just like they sounded. My Mom used to sit at the kitchen table and read her letters to us, because we could not decipher what it said, when we were kids.
My kids made the 4' wooden Gumbys when they were in Boy Scouts. They are to scale, and guess what? You can ALWAYS find our campsite in Sturgis.
There are a chitpot full of ppl who have pics of theyselves, at Sturgis, on the chopper, with Gumby. NOT ME, the wooden one.
