Hmm, unless there is a legit reason - rules infraction, etc. - it's always a bad idea to pull a thread. There is always someone looking for info and it might be in that pulled thread.
Just because the original poster wants a thread shut down is not a legitimate reason. If there is something in the thread the OP wants gone he has the option to edit his own post(s). That way no one else's posts are consigned to the trash.
