Important safety note! When buying parts that require an exchange never ever tell the parts jockey that you are not paying for the core, you are leaving the OL there while you go home and swap parts. The parts guy may go for it but someone else is gonna raise strong objections.
Never tried it at the parts counter, but true story. Back in the early 70's, buddy was doing some crazy ridin' on Main St. in a little town. Cop comes into the bar to bust him and he tells them it's all cool, you can take my prospect to jail. He then tells prospect to go get in the back of the cop car, so he does. Poor cop didn't know what to do, so he ends up calling his chief while we're sitting there laughing in the bar. Long story short and amazingly enough, once the chief got there, the bartender helped us out and we ended up with no one in trouble and allowed to stay as long as we behaved. Ahhhh, the good old days, try that one today!
