I wear all types of helmets and some HD T-shirts so one of them has to have someone calling me a POSER. OK, I'm a poser. I was thinking of ordering patches and pins labeling me a "POSER". I'm going to start a club of POSERS. Our slogan would be, "Proud to be a POSER."
Enough, already.
As Danny D said I probably am a poser. I Ride a HD, belong to a HOG Chapter, wear a vest with Hog patches, wear another vest with Patriot Gaurd Patches, wear Leather and ride like I want to. If that makes me a Poser than I am GDamn proud to be a POSER and if anyone doesn't like the way I look there are three other directions to look in. I am here to please me not the Masses. JMHO
Geez, are we bored or what?
Hey dude, thanks for your service.
Someday join the American Legion and hook up with the Riders.
I'm sure you will find some people (Veterans) just like yourself.
Maybe i don't quite fully understand the term, or maybe im just trying to cover up my own poser tendencies, .... Am I a poser?
Yes you are - just for asking that very ridiculous question.
Let's start an oil thread or two or three that ask "how old are you" or similar demographics; what your job is; how old do you have to be to ride a touring bike; why use a frame/swing arm a stabilizer and which one to choose from; chaps and gloves; 1%'ers; tents, etc. Now those would really be worthwhile topics to discuss.

Im so sick of labels.I was raised by old time 1%ers and was taught and rasied in that lifestyle,The funny part was my old man never pushed club life on me and sometimes even denounced it.Now im in my 30's,H-D certified, currently own and operate my own shop, and everthing i do is involved with motorcycles, and i have allways run around with that type of crowd, and what ive learned is that there are more posers and wanna be's wearing 1%er patches than the guys at starbux. The brotherhood, trust, and freindship isnt there anymore....To mean being a biker is all about riding motorcycles, taking care of youre family, and not backing down when youre right, and not running when youre scared.A patch or label dosent make a man,or a biker. You my friend are more a biker than most self proclamied bikers i know....Keep you knees in the breeze and the leave the labels to the posers.
No you are not. As harleyflyboy pointed out, a poser is a person who pretends to be what he or she is not: an affected or insincere person. I have met more posers in the uptight business community than the biking community. Some people feel that its not worthwhile to try to explain to the non-rider or any other sector of society what its like to ride a Harley. I am not there yet, and I hope I never get there. For me, its all about the ride. When I ride, I become one with the road and the world. Its a feeling that I cant get anywhere else. A physician once asked me why I rode motorcycles; Im sure he expected some lame on the edge, adrenalin junkie, or biker lifestyle answer, so I tried to put it in terms that he would understand and I said it was like being on nitrous oxide and wide awake all at the same time. Its personal thing to me and I dont have to make excuses or justify what I am to anyone, as long as I am true to myself.
