Another helmet question.......

I know I'VE never felt more enlightened...
I mean ALL those other helmets threads were just BS compared to this riveting, eloquent finale...

I still firmly believe in freedom of choice
Seriously, I don't care if anyone wears a helmet or not. But there are people here looking for advice, and personal experiences, with which they can make a 'freedom of choice' decision.
They shouldn't have to consider such nonsense as "extra vision afforded by not wearing a helmet", weight of a helmet, loss of hearing, breaking their neck in the event of a crash, etc..

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
While wearing mine, if I move my eyes as far left as I can I can barely see the left edge of my helmet. If I move my eyes as far right as I can, I can barely see the right edge of my helmet. But only one edge, barely, at a time. Since we don't have eyes in the back of our heads, the only real restiction is the inability to see the gas tank without tilting my head forward. Of course since you don't wear a helmet, you really don't understand this.
None of my FF helmets have been 'high dollar', and I have crashed a few times. On the street once and many times off road. I never broken my neck or severed my spinal cord. But I did receive a basilar skull fracture and brain stem injuries at the end of my last desert race on 3/23/75. So wearing helmets doesn't make a rider totally safe.
I'm sorry about your son, but I can quote more facts about riding, racing, crashing, etc. that most people will ever have experience enough to understand. And as I age, my blood sugar is reaching a level that doesn't allow me to have pie anymore.
