I know some of those "biker" types you're talking about. Minimum wage, shitty jobs, or no jobs. Dumber than a bag of hammers. Spewing denigrating comments out about white collar professional people. Calling them pencil necks and office boys and crap. I call them "think I'm so good's", because they really think they are something special. I can't see it. To me, someone who drops out of high school because they're too cool, can't find work or collects welfare, or works minimum wage. But hangs out with others like himself and augmenting his income with B&e's or selling dope, is just not a lifestyle I envy. I don't think it cool at all.

So the term RUB speaks more about the person using the term than the people it refers to.

IMHO of course.
Your making a class thing about it complete with a " I'm superior attitude " . People have called people names have since we climbed outa the trees looking for food .

The biker part you can buy all the gear and new shiny in the world but sorry that doesn't make anybody anything but an owner , some will evolve into a biker maybe but that happen's to some individuals it doesn't come automatically with ownership .

Biker is about the man not what he rides .

Learned something a long time ago , you can't label somebody unless they really stand out but what you can do is see what they aren't pretty quick .

It's the haters and the bigots are the ones I have a problem with. No "superior" attitude.

You got tons of attitude showing there , like this comment you made . Drawing an awfull lot of conclusions from something I never mentioned a word of in this thread . What bikers am I talking about and where ? The wages thing ? I know just as many CEO's and business owners as trailer trash which I personally try to avoid , your seriously off base with the class bullshit .

Honestly the guys your talking about are just as big a bunch of clowns as the weekend warriors play acting at it with all the dress up and peacock strutting . Does kinda show how little most really know about what or who an actual biker is , everybody is all about the stereotypes either trying to be one or bashing them .

Well that is a true statement. I am totally on board with that, the idiots I know are, well, a bunch of idiots. I have a specific beef with them, that I'm not prepared to go public with. Suffice to say there is NO "code" of ethics amongst these so called "bikers". All that "brotherhood" crap goes out the window when push comes to shove. They cover their asses and throw their "brother" under the bus.

So I'm biased. I'm sure the idiots I know aren't typical, and as you say are just a bunch of clowns.

I have a good friend I ride with/ hangout with. Everyone calls him RUB. I did not know his real name until knowing him for 5 or 6 years. His stands for Retired Urban Biker.

He defenilty does not fit the original meaning, which makes it a little bit funny.

It's like this man low rent transcends a lot of boundaries be it social groups or wage levels .

Having been inside the 1% world I'll tell you now the old notions of brotherhood aren't what they are now or have been the last 25 yrs . Closer to the top of the pile you get the more your back is hanging out in the breeze .

There's good people out there who do believe and live it as it was but the shear numbers of wannabe's and all the second , third and forth tier clubs have watered it down to almost gone .

To be fair to the dudes you're talking about being the "bikers" of the world. The idiots I'm talking about are self proclaimed "bikers". Talking the talk, who they know, the "clubs" they've hung with, their buddies the "patch" holders. All sounds great, where is all that now? Just a bunch of BS.

So I'm not stereotyping all "bikers" just type casting some of the idiots out there.

bikers come from all walks of life. rich, poor, middle class, etc. i know plenty of guys who live in trailer parks and guys who own million dollar homes who are what i would call a biker. there are also guys who don't have a bike but used to own one that i'd call bikers. but just because you own a harley doesn't mean you are a biker.
