You forget most of this place won't own a bike that doesn't have a warranty still . God forbid somebody actually build or ride a used one and be happy .
Guess some of us that are old enough to remember warranties lasting to the curb never got into the "need a warranty" mentality. Forbid or not, I'm happy with a sportster I have less than 4 grand into. If I had the money for a new Glide, I'd find something like a pair of 94 FX's and build a father/daughter duo. Maybe it helps when we actually understand how that machinery under our butts works. And when I hit something I don't unnerstand, I'll be asking fer yer help!
It's irresponsible not irresponcible. I am so happy for you that you have several bikes. My point is that a lot of the newer HD bikes cost over $15,000. If you are going to buy a motorcycle that costs that much then you should make a decent living. I don't give a **** if someone wants to spend all of their money on a motorcycle, it's just not that smart.
I guess I'm a fukken genious then, only 1500.00 dollars in the hole.....
I would never buy a "new" bike. Let someone else take the hit. Plenty of garage queens with 4 - 10k miles on them that haven't seen rain or a cloudy day.

Marcus built "Chump Change" for me & she actually came in at a VERY good price ( don't ask him...he LIKES me & wanted to see ride again). Butchs' ride was a basket we picked up for two grand. I'm pretty sure BOTH ran less than a pair of Sportys.
Personally, I prefer a bike I can fix without having to take it to a dealer to get the computer reset.
