I hope everyone living on and around the front range and up into the mountains are doing ok. It started raining here Monday night and has been on and off since then. Sometimes heavy, pounding rain and then it lightens up for a few hours before raging again. Last night it rained steady and hard here for about 3 or 4 straight hours after raining two days on and off. This is NOT normal for us. I live just north of Brighton and we are holding up ok. Several inches of rain has fallen, but it all has run off down the hill fortunately. Pictures coming out of other areas not so lucky. Washed out roads, flooded lowlands, exposed gas and sewer lines and worst of all some loss of life. It is expected to continue through Friday and maybe even Sat. with another 1-4 inches falling. Those living closer to I25 and west seem to have it worse though low areas everywhere are in trouble.
I got lucky and have been home through all of this due to a minor medical issue so didn't have to fight the roads and rain. Not that this would be anyone's first choice to come for help, but if anyone is in need of assistance just shout out here, and I'll do what I can. Stay safe and stay dry everyone!
If the floods would just clean out Denver and Boulder counties, and drown all the Caliphony transplants,Colorado just might get back to being part of America.
