At my age you get put on a lot of meds. Some actualiy do put weight on you even if you still do cardio. I bought a tourmaster convertible flex jacket that is a texrile with armor with removable liner and mesh. I'm fighting to stay in the XL size and already feel snug with the darn insulated liner in it. I'm also between 5-9 to 5-10 but I have discovered you really do shrink as your discs compress. However, mentally I'm prolly younger than you. So it's a tradeoff. Remember, bikers have more fun per cubic minute than normal people! PS- Research counter-steering and practice your front wheel braking and turning in the biggest empty parking lot you can find. The elbows on your new jacket will last a lot longer when your not sliding on your Kiester! I practice every year and I'm closing in on 60. PSS Simple explanation of counter-steering used by all good racers- simply push (gently) on the left bar to instantly increase lean angle to the left and push on the right bar for the right. It allows you to react quicker and turn better. Works great for dodging deer and decreasing radius entrance ramps as well as avoiding left turn idiots in cages. PSS-Resist the temptation to take your friends down a curvy road at speed after you master this. If they don't know how to do this they could crash trying to keep up with you, seen it happen. If you drag your pegs, you're riding too damn fast. The odds catch up with you sooner or later. Ride safe!

Hey guys,
Please let me know if you think it looks good or if I should size up to a medium.
Here's my two-cents ...
if you stay with this particular brand, size up.
In my experience in choosing jackets is that you can have a size medium on one brand and a size medium in another brand and they would fit extremely different ... one running larger/smaller, and/or, wider/narrower.
