Thanks, I gave that some thought.
If you see that little dot that is where I turn to head east.
I will turn east before I get to Atlanta.
The other thing I have to look at is what times I will be getting to those cities.
Thanks for the heads up.
Sometimes they do road work on I-285 around Atlanta on the weekends, too. Atlanta traffic can get messed up at any time of the day or night, on any day. I've been in traffic jams coming home from the airport at 1:00 AM on a Thursday morning! Makes no sense, but it happens... OFTEN.
Check the GA DOT site before you ride, to make sure they don't have road work scheduled on I-285 that would get you all balled up in the often-hideous Atlanta traffic.
We're Number ONE in traffic... which is not something we're very proud of. As Paul said, it could totally blow your timed ride... Better to avoid Atlanta altogether!

Confused isn't taking 285 but is taking 75. 75 north from Locus Grove (exit 212) is always under construction to 675 split at Stockbridge (exit 227). It's 15 miles of bumper to bumper, loose stones and orange barriers.
I'm sure he has taken all this into consideration as some days will be 70+ mph while others 10 mph.
