Im in the market for a set of stretched saddlebags for my 2010 street glide. There's so many options. I want a good set of 4" bags. Heard the 4.5'' will scrape. Any suggestions?
I been looking at:
Topshop
Baddad injection mold bags
Fairing Factory
DNA
I have the Fat Baggers, Inc (FBI) 4" stretched bags on my 2013 street glide and I couldn't be more happy with them. My local custom body shop that did the paint work on my bike spoke very highly of them and said there was practically no prep work to be done to them.
I was lookin at some at a bike week the other week. Took notice to the different kinds of quality in the way the are constructed. Some are real thick hard plastic some are fiber gass some flimsy and some pretty sturdy. Paint prep aside what do you guys that are runnin these different bags think of the brand you purchased and how are they constructed as im thinkin about puttin stretched bags on this winter as well with a fender. Same thijg for fenders what are you guys runnin and what do you think of them. Im thinkin top shop viper cut bags and bad dad rear fender.
My father and I both run topshop. I can't get my iPad to upload pictures at the moment but I have the 4" bags and there fender overlay, top notch. The carpet inside the bags is a great touch 2.

Oh and they were awesome to deal with
How study would that fender be without doin it as an overlay? Bad dad fenders are over lay but they sell special brackets so you can take the factory fender off and do them as a stand alone fender.
I have looked at a lot of custom bags over the years and there are some really bad ones out there and some decent ones. At the end of the day the genuine HD bags are the best quality, fit, and finish money can buy. I ended up buying some recently and just got them on last week.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow. The quality of material is thicker and stronger than most any other after market brand. I will say the HD bags have a taper down towards the rear of the bike. I actually prefer this look now as opposed to the bottoms being even all the way across.
Also, you can't beat factory paint. You can order bags from HD and have them painted from the factory. There are some good painters out there that can match it okay, but will never get 100% like the factory. Quality will
Never be as good either.

You've got to be kidding me right? You obviously know nothing about paint. If anything, a good painter would make your bags look better than the rest of the bike. My brand new Street Glide has more orange peel than a rotten orange. When my new bags are painted, I'll have to cut and buff the rest of the bike to bring it up to the quality of the new parts. I'm glad you like your bags but don't say that factory paint is better than a quality professional painter's work. That's just ignorant.

QUAILITY PAINTER WILL LOOK MUCH BETTER THAN A HARLEY FINISH
Mine are Fairing Factory 5" bags. I chose 5 because I like the look of the pipes completely covered. They're "scalloped" on the bottoms (check out the 2nd pic) so if you ever scrape them, you'll be having bigger problems than scraped bags. Had 'em put on in March of 2013, and haven't ever had a problem.
