Just installed mine tonight. It took about an hour. The biggest pain is running the amp wires to the battery. You have to a gas tank bolt to run the wire harness to the battery. The speakers are simple. Fairing comes of in less than 5 min. I turned the system on in the garage and it did seam louder. When I take it out on the highway that will be the test. I will give you an update.
Absolutely. Go to the web site, and down load the pdf file on installation. Although I don't have mine yet, I have spent about 3 weeks researching this before I sent in my order. I have had the fairing off of my EG Classic several times, for speakers, dragonflies, etc, and it should truly be as easy as the instructions indicate.
There is a few reasons why were not making it "public" that the amp is available by itself--mostly, cause we want to make sure guys have changed the speakers already. The amp on the stock speakers is like tryin topolish a turd Anyways, until we figure a way to make sure the speakers are changed, the amp will only be available via the forums. If people are interested, you should drop me an email direct--PEZ
Hi Pez,
Just a thought !
You should really post a nice high quality video of your speakers playing in
both versions (fronts only & both ultra) on your web site.
My video was done using a 3 meg digital camera with the movie option.
I'll have to update my video showing the Wife's SG with front
speakers playing and my new Ultra with the 4 speakers playing.
I haven't got to ride the new bike much because of the crappy
weather here to see if I need/want the amp yet. But I am also
waiting the setup you are working on for speakers on the lowers.
Pez ....
While I got your ear could you clear something up ?
My 98 Classic had the HD amp under the tour-pak.
So does that mean the radio pumped out 40 watts (20 each)
to the front speakers and the 40 watt amp out back pumped
out 40 watts (20 each) to the rear speakers ?
Also on an Ultra the radio pumps out 80 watts (20 each)
to all 4 of the speakers ?
So if someone adds your amp to an Ultra the radio will pump
out 80 watts (40 each) to the rear speakers and your amp
(whatever wattage) will pump to the front speakers ?
Rob ....
I have an 06 SG and just installed both the front speakers and amp. Only time I had to look at the instructions was to hook up the speaker wires. A very simple install. As I said before, the biggest pain was running the harness to the battery.
