Okay. I am baffled. I was riding down the interstate the other day on my 08 Road Glide. All of a sudden I have no throttle response. Twisting the throttle and nothing. I coast to a stop, shut the bike off, turn it back on and I had throttle again. Got worse to where I could not get it back at all. I took off the throttle by wire plug by the air cleaner, blew it off, put some dielectric grease on the connection, put it back on, and was running fine again. Been good for the last few days, then on my way home this evening it did it again.
Sorry for the long description, but what the heck might be going on?
My Buddy had a similar problem turned out to be the throttle harness. FYI dielectric grease is insulating if it gets on the metal contacts in the connector
Are you talking the harness, as in where it plugs in down by the air cleaner? How can you tell if the pins need to be replaced? Visibly they look fine.
Perhaps you'd want to check the loose battery cables. I had this problem on my '09 Ultra when my buddy was riding behind me and saw my rear lights acting strange for good 30 miles then my bike cut me off when I was about to climb up the hill. No throttle response as well.
Tightened them up as I was good to go for the rest of the day.

I had the same problem on my '10. I changed out the connectors (cheap, took about an hour or so) cleaned the pins with alcohol, dielectric greased it and still had the problem. I took one last look. This time I took some ultra fine sandpaper and using a small screwdriver gently sanded the pins, took a Q-Tip with rubbing alcohol and cleaned them, added some more dielectric grease. I haven't had a problem since.
