Default Best Touring Bike

Okay I am not wanting to start a war and I'm not a troll. I have a dilemma.
I recently bought a Heritage softail. I like the bike a lot but my wife will not get on it. So I'm considering selling it and buying a Touring bike.
So what I am wondering which of the models is the best for 2 up riding. We will probably do 60% street 40% highway.

1. CVO Limited or CVO Road Glide
2. Ultra Limited or Ultra Classic if she likes the tourpak
2. Road King if she doesn't
3 Street Glide or Road Glide

Why won't the wife get on the Heritage?

And what makes you think she'll get on a touring bike?

What is it that your wife doesn't like about the Heritage? I have an Ultra Classic, and a Street Glide. My wife likes to ride two up on the Ultra Classic better. She says their is more room. She likes the running boards vs the foot pegs. Likes the tourpac behind here instead of the back rest. I like the Street Glide two up because its lighter and easier to ride around at slow speeds.
It just comes down to what you feel comfortable with. The Heritage is a nice bike two up. What ever she doesn't like may be the same on the other two also.

My thoughts exactly, and why I asked the 2 questions.

She will not get on the Heritage because she thinks it too small. She has put on some weight in the last 40 years and is not as limber. I hope she doesn't read or you know where I will be
She use to ride a lot when I had an 82 Electra Glide. So I thought I might rent a touring bike and take her for a ride, but I don't want to rent all of them.

I've had a Road King, an Ultra Classic, and currently own a Road Glide. My wife was happiest with the Ultra and the Road Glide. I prefer the Road Glide with the frame mounted fairing.

I would suggest doing some demo rides with your wife, and find out what makes her comfortable and take it from there. You never know you may end up keeping your Heritage and money in your pocket, or you may find a great reason to purchase a new bike. JMO

Take her to a dealer for a good look around before you try anything. Doesn't cost anything other than time. Arrange for her to sit on a few bikes and let her do some of the choosing. Make her part of the decision process and you might surprise yourselves.

If your riding a Heritage now,I take it your not a big guy.So if your thinking of a bigger touring bike like a Ultra, you might want to think about how your going to manage holding it up with your wife on board who as you said has put on a few pounds.I know from experience going from a Ultra back to a Road King for the same reason. It might pay to have your wife along to test ride some Dealer bikes to find the one that is managable.
