Default CVO Wheels on Limited?

Why does Harley say on the CVO wheels that they don't fit the bikes that are not CVO like a Limited? What is different on the CVO models specific wheels. Notice in the for sale items some list that they fit. I'm lost. I'm liking the new Slicer wheels is why asking.

They may say that because the front wheel is ~1" taller on the CVO and may have issues clearing a the front fender on a non CVO bike.

Either way they'll fit on your bike if its has ABS (if not just swap the wheel bearings) but may require a fender adapter or the old trick many use is just drilling the rear fender mount holes out a bit (egg shaped) and lifting the rear fender up just a bit for proper clearence (if needed).

All that said, I'd also recommend you take a look at the offerings from the aftermarket like Performance Machine as they are billet opposed to cast and a much better wheel for very little cost difference well all is said and done if you buy at a major rally or catch the right sale at Coastal Moto or Eastern Performance.

As an example of two sets I bought both included both wheels, mounted and balanced tires, two front rotors and all hardware. An 18/18 package I mounted from CM was $2500 and a 21/17 set I bought at a rally was $2900 installed. Both times I then sold the stock my stock wheels to help offset the investment.

All the front wheels used on the touring models over the years, 16", 17", 18" and 19", come out at similar rolling diameters, because they each use a lower profile section tyre than the previous size. I don't believe any of those sizes will give problems in any stock front fender.

I have the CVO or Agitator rim on my 13 SG....didn't have to do anything except get on and ride.

As grbrown stated, rolling diameter is the same due to lower profile tire
