Got the bars back off and laying on my kitchen table now. (Had to replace the wife's window regulator first )

Trying to pull the throttle wire bundle back out. It's being a bitch.

I've already found a wire with a bare spot on it. It's out of the "control bundle" (the bundle coming from the controls for blinkers, OFF/Run, Cruise etc.). Anyone know which wire is the wire/'s for the cruise?

If I can get the wire bundle for the throttle pulled back out I'm going to cut the green connector out completely.

 

Ok....got the damn throttle wire bundle pulled back out. Pulled both the black and green connectors apart in the process. Anyone point me to a wire diagram so I know which wires go where? Some are the same color in that green connector.

Ok. Got the TBW soldered in. Thanks for the diagram Bates. I'm just sheathing the wires with electrical tape.

 

Ok there's part of your problem. The bend at the top of those bars aren't that bad but the bend at the bottom is where your cutting your wires. Take some black gorilla duct tape and use about an 8" section. Start at the control end and lay the harness on the edge of the tape, long ways and roll up like a cigarette. Next piece over lap about an inch till you get to the end of the harness. This and a dab of Vaseline and it'll slide through like butter.

Ok guys....wires are soldered, pulled, and I fixed any skinned marks by cutting and re-soldering them and shrink wrapping them. I'm taking the bars back out to the garage. Wish me luck!

I got the bars back on, and everything is back together. I started it up in the garage and the CE light was off. No codes. I think that fixed it. I wanted to ride it to check....but it's raining like a sonofabitch right now. Hailed earlier. I took some pics in the garage. I'll clean it up tomorrow and take some better pics in the (kinda) sunlight. Post 'em up in a separate post.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this post. I was kinda freaking out. And I have Class III stuff in my house. My neighbors get nervous when I start to freak out

Anyway....As promised, crappy garage pics!
