Default Big Tex Rally

Anyone participating in this? I have spent the last few days looking and tweaking on my route, and I think I am done. This is my first event like this, sure hope what I have planned works. Anyone that has done something like this before that can share any tips I would gladly accept them.

Clif, I chose to start from Amarillo...no real reason other than why not. My route takes me back into the hill country, spending the night around Leakey and then to the alamo the next morning, working my way up 35. I should be right at 1500 miles.

Interesting idea, not sure why they feel they need to have rules requiring helmets ect. I was seriously considering giving it a shot until I read the 'nanny' rules.

Sounds like an interesting ride, wish I could offer up some advice but have never done one of these. Riding exp says:
Water
Sun block
Rest when sleep monster attacks
Stretch every stop
Basic tools
Other than those tips for all trips ride loose and have fun. Will bookmark site so I can look into next year.

Don't ride back up 35 they have a thing called Construction going on.
Go back up IH 10 and take HWY 16 North all the back to IH 20 then plot an interesting rout back home.
