I feel better about it. I'm pretty handy with tools but I'm not a wrench by any means. A friend of mine is an excellent paint guy so that's not a problem.

Not a difficult thing to remove and replace the inner fairing. I swapped out the inner fairing, radio, amp, and speaker in an afternoon. As other said before, label all the wires and take some pictures. I am going to take it apart again in a few weeks to install new handlebars.

well if you want to talk about showing off.. LOL

what about the guy (I think he's on the east coast and mentioned on this forum many times) that paints a fairing to match in group buys then delivers to a suitable location to install them in 45 minutes.. That's showing off AND TALENTED.. LOL

You talking about that guy in Florida. I'm still pissed at him. After I got my fairing removed and took to my painter (and got caught in an extreme snow fall on the way home), he reached out to me about a week later and said he'd be in my neck of the woods a week later. Son-of-a...

I watched him remove the inner fairing from my buddys EG, put the painted one on all in 45 minutes. The paint is top quality and matches perfectly.

OP, b/c you said you're tool handy you for sure can do it. Maybe not easy but definitely doable. Take your time. Enjoy the effort. Next, painting in place will not turn out well, imo. We spend hours staring out over the inner, so it's the painted part you see most. I say treat yourself to a super paint job and you will love it. Definitely one of the mods I appreciate most. Finally, you're lucky to have a bud that paints. Give him a chance to jazz up your scoot. If he's good, he'll want it removed.
