Got some Yaffee Monkey's here. 14 inch but seem to sit like 16's compared to some of my buddies. Got em pushed all the way forward and I'm 6'2". Love em. If you're going to do any taller bars, error to the higher. Doesn't seem to make sense raising your bars just slightly. Commit and go for it.

Get a friend to help you out , go out sit on your bike close your eyes and put you hands out like you going to ride the bike. Get the friend to measure the width of your hands , the height , and the pull back with your eyes shut.
Then find a bar that is as close to your measurements.
I am 5'8 I found the 14" KST MAYHEMS were perfect fit after I tried 3 sets of bars on my SG
Using the method above I got it right the first time on my Road King.

I don't think sixguns was being mean at all. You asked for opinions, which mine is 12 MBB....but is your upper/lower bodies the same as ours....how about your arms....same length? Do you slouch...do you have a backrest...are you using stock seat or like me, have you swapped to an aftermarket that puts you back and down an inch. You asked a question and gave no information on on your height or anything.

So...truly, he wasn't being funny with you. I see some people already saying to go with "at least" ... and then some say to go taller than you think you want because you'll wish you had. Well, I didn't and I don't.

Best advice and I think alot will agree.............go by the dealership or local hang out and take a look at SGs, talk to the owners, ask if you can sit on their bike. I did--and they were all happy to allow me sit on them. My neighbors also have them...and they allowed me to do the same.

14s are too tall for me---hated them....actually rode my buddy's SG with them and I didn't like them.......10s were too short because they blocked stock mirrors---however, my neighbor who has this particular setup swears they don't block the mirrors...well, that's because he's like 5'7 and his upper body and arms are short and he actually can see out of them. I'm 5'11 and can't

Happy shopping man----I pray you don't get confused with these internet opinions and go out do some live testing. Shoot---I got so confused with the length of cables required after reading a million threads on this forum and getting different opionions....so I took the opinion of the longer cable and it worked out

Oh...and while most push theirs forward...I pulled mine back an inch due to my seat pushing me back an inch and down an inch...and neck issues

I had 12" Yaffe MBs on my streetglide. I'm 5'9" and had a seat which sat me down and back about 1". Loved the bars. PIA to wire. I put Bucky Odyssey bars on my Roadglide. They're fatter at 1.5" and a little wider than the Yaffes and I like the wrist angle better. I am a slow learner because they are also a PIA to wire. If you are any taller than me I would go with 14s or 16s. Don't forget to take into account your seat if you are going to add a custom seat. I would have gone with taller bars on the roadglide but it wasn't the look I was going for and 12s are pretty much perfect for my comfort. I have pics in my gallery.

crimson13 and sfcmo357 have some good answers: Find where your hands/arms/shoulders/body feel comfortable and ask others if you can try sitting on their setup. Very good advise for those that want their hands up higher.

This is the method I used......but we measured 3 different times 10 minutes apart, just to make sure I reached and sat the same position each time.
Hold a 4ft broom handle in your hands helps too.....
I have 23k miles on my Twin Peaks, and they are just a comfortable today
as they were the first day I rode with them.

I'm 6'3" and have 14" Vindiktas. Great bars but I'd go 1" higher to get the bottom of my controls out of the way. If you're shorter that won't be an issue.

I live the bars. They feel great.

12" buky bars on my roadie. 5'6". it will depend on your height and your seat position as to which bars give you best comfort. I've always like my bars just a hair under my shoulder height and I pull them back so I'm sitting straight up in the seat when riding. Get the bike straight up and stable. Not concerned about the position when at a stop so make sure you fit them to you with your feet up where you ride with them the most, floorboards, highway pegs or whatever. I do that because that's how I spend the most time on the bike.

12" Yaffe "Classic Bagger" Apes here, pulled back very slightly. I'm 6'1" with a 34-inch sleeve.

Guys are correct; Yaffe bars are almost 2" taller than advertised. Got mine @ Dennis Kirk for $94.99, shipped!

For optimum fit and comfort, measure with your wrists below your shoulders, but above your elbows.
