Bike start when cold stay's running on idle as long I dont hit the throttle !

Then the bike wont start again, next day or a few hours later ,the bike starts again same problem
I think this is a fuel problem ?? pump ?

It's due for a new filter
Maybe clean your IAC 1st costs about $5.00
If that doesn't do it change the filter

Also, when engine is cold, start it and mist WD 40 around intake area and see if rpm's change, may have a vacuum leak (lean condition)

I've heard of some people placing a block of wood against one of the tabs and then pound on the block of wood with a mallet to unlatch the cap. Not sure if it works, but that's what I will try when I change mine out soon. Of course, you want to cover the tank with heavy towels or something else in case the wood or mallet slips.
