If it is within your means....

Go with the 14.

The improvements are worth it.

Like everyone has already stated....go with the '14 and don't look back. I traded a '12 Street Glide for a '14 Street Glide Special.

The '12 was a great bike and I really liked that bike. But I love the '14. On the '12, if you have the bars even just slightly turned coming to a stop stay off of the front brake. Otherwise it wants to fall. You had to make sure you came to a stop using the rear brake. On the '14 you can have the bars all the way turned and use the front brake without any problem. The combination of the much stiffer and sturdier front end, linked brakes and low profile 19" front tire keeps the bike nice a nimble! I whip my '14 around like a dirt bike, the '12 you had to be careful with the weight of the touring bike. You will adjust much easier from a Dyna to a '14 touring bike and far quicker.

The saddlebag improvement on the '14's have been long overdue. You will appreciate the one handed bags. I love them! The beefier cam in the '14 HO 103 is great right out of the box and gives you roughly 10 more foot pounds of torque. You will appreciate the power improvement of the '14's.

I would recommend the Special over the Standard version to get the linked ABS brakes and 6.5" Infotainment screen as standard equipment. There have been many posts on this forum with members having issues with the Infotainment system. Personally, I haven't had a single problem with it and love it. It's really nice having a built in GPS system where it is easily viewed while riding with a nice big screen.

Go with the '14....you won't regret it!

Didn't know about the weight issues with the 12/13 the 14 did feel pretty light to me when I test rode it. My only worry would be tight Manuvers. With my Dyna I whip it around pretty easy. Looks like the 14 will be right choice. I'll hold out of a used 14 special.

The vent doesn't make it worth it. But all the other upgrades make it completely worth going with the 2014. But I would go for the Special as @rogerthat stated.

I wouldn't trade my 13 for a 14.....but if I were in the market for a Street Glide, I'd buy a 14 over a 12/13 if that makes any sense.

So funny some of the comments. I have a 13, test rode both 14's . There is nothing that is like OMG what a different bike? A lot of the responses are people that like to have the latest bikes. Even the Motorcycle training officer we ride with could not tell the difference. Man go with what ever you can afford
and enjoy it. Seems like most like to say hey I have the newest bike. A year later no you don't you should have got the 15 the 14 is a piece of sh^t. Wait no the 16 makes the 15 a piece of sh^t. Wait no the 17 makes the 16 a piece of sh^t... Man with the logic.. every new item that comes out that you own. Buy it so you have the latest and can say you have the latest.

I patiently wait the negative replies because my opinion is different then every one else.

I have a 2009 Street Glide that I purchased new. Last year I test rode a demo 2014. It's a nice bike but nothing so special that made me want to trade. I must add that I've changed out the front and rear suspension on my 09 - as well as the wheels and bars. I actually like the way my 09 handles better than the 14, but like I said, I've made many mods to it. If you are talking all stock bikes then I think anyone here is going to choose a 2014 over an earlier model. You just have to decide if the cost difference is worth having the latest and greatest.

A lot of good responses. Your right go with I can afford. And when I'm in the market I will.
